When 2A talk gets real quiet

The Second Amendment is always trotted out as our last defense against tyranny - you hear it nonstop from people who love to imagine themselves as heroic defenders of freedom. But watching the Trump Administration twist every rule just to cling to power, I keep noticing how those same “2A rights” folks suddenly get real quiet when the government is targeting minorities, not them. They only seem to care about government overreach when it’s hypothetical or when it affects their own group. When law enforcement or federal agents are the ones stockpiling weapons, and regular people in big cities get hit with more restrictions, somehow that's fine. The hypocrisy is wild - all that talk about standing up to fascism, but the cheering gets loudest when it’s their side doing the oppressing. It’s almost like their obsession with control is actually a sign of weakness, not strength. Tyranny is brittle - it takes constant, unnatural effort to hold it together, and the cracks always show under pressure. History is clear: no fascist regime ever fell because people simply hoped for the best or politely asked for change. It takes resistance, even if the truth feels like it’s getting drowned out by noise and fake outrage. But rebellions really are built on hope, and I know I’m not alone - I have friends everywhere, and we just have to keep trying, even as the meaning of words and the idea of truth itself feel more and more under attack.
