Swapping Nehls for Nehls changes nothing

GOP Rep. Troy Nehls bailing on Congress is just classic MAGA clown show energy. This guy has been glued to Trump from the start - literally got up and said he’d jump if Trump told him to, no questions asked. He’s my mom’s congressman down in Texas, and while she’s totally on board the MAGA train, all I see is another grifter who was nearly charged for wearing medals he didn’t earn, and who’s now getting investigated for allegedly paying rent to his own company with campaign money. Honestly, it’s the same self-dealing we’ve seen from Trump for years, so Nehls fits right in. Now Nehls is acting like he’s stepping down after just four years in DC to “focus on family,” which is politician code for “getting out before the heat gets worse or before it’s time to cash out that tiny congressional pension and decent healthcare.” But let’s not kid ourselves - he’s not even leaving until the next election, and the GOP is teeing up his identical twin brother Trevor to run for the seat, just like when Trevor slid into his old constable job. It’s all in the family for these guys. The district isn’t losing a MAGA loyalist, they’re just swapping one for another, and people are acting like this is some big shakeup. Maybe Congress’s average IQ goes up a notch, but nothing’s really changing back home except the name on the door.
