Tired puns just become casual racism

People keep dragging out that “Wright Brothers vs Wong Brothers” pun, like it’s the height of online comedy. I get that it’s a play on the Wright brothers - the aviation guys - and the whole right/wrong wordplay. But then people just mash together any Asian last name for the joke, like “Wong” (which is actually a Chinese name), or sometimes even “Watanabe Brothers,” which is Japanese and makes zero sense in this context. The punchline always lands somewhere like “two Wongs don’t make a Wright,” as if that’s clever. But honestly, it just turns into a lazy, half-baked race joke that nobody calling it out even seems to care about. All this weird pun stuff just ends up as another example of casual racism floating around random corners of the internet, and it’s not even funny.
