Hijacked masks, broken trust, same chaos

Trump’s absolute shitshow during the COVID-19 pandemic still blows my mind. The guy literally went on TV and called the virus a hoax, then got COVID himself just weeks before the 2020 election, and somehow people still lined up to vote for him. I was working in EMS at the time, and we had to smuggle face masks into hospitals because the federal government kept hijacking shipments of PPE - taking them away from places that needed them, especially blue states, just to hand them off to their own cronies to resell at insane markups. My own family was more loyal to Trump than to my safety, even while his actions put my life on the line every day. Then you’ve got the GOP purging registered voters and running all kinds of shady voter suppression tactics to keep people in Democratic-leaning areas from voting, doing whatever they could to keep turnout low and rig the game in their favor. Meanwhile, Russian hackers were flexing on American conservatives just for fun, probably outsmarting half the party while they were at it. All this chaos, just so the orange menace could cling to power a little longer, and his followers still act like it was all for Jesus or whatever. Praise be, I guess.
